Questions people ask before buying

Salt-free or salt-based: which do I need?

Salt-free NaturSoft prevents new scale from forming on pipes, fixtures and appliances, with no salt, power or drain line. It doesn't remove hardness, so test strips will still read "hard." If you want genuinely soft water and that slippery-soft feel, choose the Carbon + Salt Softener Combo (PAC4/PAC7).

What's the difference between PC, NS, PF and PSE?

The letters name the tank. PC is the carbon filter tank (taste and smell). NS is the NaturSoft salt-free conditioner tank (scale). PF is the fluoride filter tank. PSE is a PC and an NS tank sold as a pair: PSE1800 = PC600 + NS3, and PSE2000 = PC1000 + NS6.

Can I install it myself?

Most homeowners comfortable with basic plumbing do it in 1–2 hours. Otherwise, any local plumber can do it. The system fits any pipe size; we'll ask yours after you order.

Does it work on well water?

These systems are designed for municipal water. If you're on a well, call or text us first and we'll help you figure out what you need.

What does it cost to own over time?

Salt-free systems: a sediment pre-filter every 6–9 months and new media roughly every 5 years, with no salt, electricity or wasted water. Salt-based systems like the PAC4/PAC7 also need softener salt added to the brine tank.
